Mumbai: Although Abhi-Ash undoubtedly seem very much together, the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai has chosen Akshay Kumar over hubby Abhishek Bachchan! It is for Ash’s upcoming movies that the actress has opted out of a film starring Abhishek, to comfortably work with Akki on another project.
According to the latest news, Aishwarya has walked out of her husband Abhishek Bachchan`s film ‘Crooked’, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, citing `date problems`. A source reveals that the dates of Vipul Shah’s Akki-Ash starrer ‘Action Replay’ were clashing with the same, which is perhaps why she backed out from ‘Crooked’.
An insider reveals that since ‘Action Replay’ is nearing completion and ‘Crooked’ is yet to go on floors, Ash didn’t think twice before dropping out from the latter.
This must be a good professional decision, but hope it is well understood by ‘family’ and friends!

Filmmaker Vipul Shah says he is worried about his
friendship with
Aishwarya Rai who is working in his film "
Action Replay" as people are making "
systematic attempts to destroy" their relationship.
"
Aishwarya is a very respectable professional. It hurts to see how her sheer hard work is ridiculed to build one spicy story by the media. She has been a soft target. And the sort of rumours rising now can damage my relationship with her. She has been my friend for a long time and I am afraid I will have a fallout with her," Shah told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
"There are certain people who are making systematic attempts to destroy my relationship with
Aishwarya. There are gossip mongers who are spreading baseless rumours that she has refused to dub for 'Action Replay' after seeing the rushes. But none of this is true," he added.
Shah gives three reasons to prove that all the rumours are baseless.
"Firstly, when the shooting of the film has not been completed, where's the question of the rushes and dubbing? Secondly, I haven't even seen the 'edit' of the film. After the shoot completes, it will take at least two and a half months to put it in order for a final cut; so there is no need for dubbing at the moment.
"And lastly, '
Action Replay' is in sync sound, so dubbing is totally out of the question. Besides, I have been busy for '
London Dreams';
Aishwarya has been busy shooting '
Ravana' and '
Guzaarish'. She has been travelling a lot so we didn't even have time to take '
Action Replay' forward. What is the logic behind these rumours then?" he added.
This apart, there were also rumours that
Aishwarya had repeatedly rejected one of music composer Pritam Chakraborty's song for the film. But Shah denies it.
"It was I who had rejected Pritam's song thrice, not
Aishwarya. The song was for her entry in the film and I wanted to crack a big song. I never allow my actors to my music recording studio - then from where have these rumours come out from?" he asked in an agitated tone.
Shah, who made hits like "
Singh Is Kinng" and "
Namastey London", is yet to shoot the last leg of the movie, which also features actor
Akshay Kumar and
Neha Dhupia."The last schedule of the film is still pending. We have planned to shoot it in December or January. Currently I am doing the recce for the locations," he said.

Of course, it was not Amitabh Bachchan who plays the character of Auro in Balki’s upcoming flick ‘Paa’, but a child artiste playing young Amitabh in the film who fell from Vidya Balan’s shoulder, creating commotion on the sets of the film.
Sources close to production unit reveal that the particular sequence required Vidya Balan to carry the young Amitabh (played by a child artiste) on her frail shoulders (Vidya Balan weighs only 45 kg, while the child artiste was also of the same weight). Though, it seemed rather a Herculean task for a person of Vidya Balan’s weight to carry the child of equal weight, she volunteered to complete the shot.
Initially, everything was going in accordance with the plan, but after some time there was a loud bang and Vidya, along with the young Amitabh Bachchan, was seen tumbling on the ground. Abhishek Bachchan plays Auro’s father in the flick.
Though Vidya Balan was lying on the ground and everybody rushed to help her stand, the gutsy lady refused to back out of the sequence. She again tried to carry the boy and finally okayed the particular sequence to the satisfaction of director Balki.
In fact, Vidya Balan, who will be working with Big B for the first time in her bollywood career, was over-excited with the opportunity and did not want to leave any stone unturned in her effort to give a realistic and perfect shot for the film. Vidya Balan plays Abhishek Bachchan’s wife and Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in the film.
It may be recalled that Amitabh Bachchan’s character of Auro in the film suffers from a rare kind of genetic disorder called progeria. The disease causes premature ageing of an individual, leading to graying of hair etc at very young age.
To portray the character of Auro realistically, Amitabh Bachchan had to take the help of specialist technicians from Hollywood. In fact, Amitabh’s new look in ‘Paa’ consists of eight pieces of clay, which were especially fitted on the facial contours of the actor. Finally, these eight pieces of clay had been made into one by special electronic spray.
The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Big B’s daughter- in- law, has taken charge of the marketing strategy of ‘Paa’ and has been attending all meetings of creative team. Sources close to Bachchans say that Ash wants ‘Paa’ to succeed at the box office at all cost, and hence has been personally supervising everything.
Another reason for Aishwarya Rai’s interest in ‘Paa’ is said to be the sagging fortunes of ‘ABCL’. Aishwarya wants to revive the Bachchan’s banner in big way through this big film. The film is due for release on Dec 4 and first look of Big B has already created enough buzz….seems Aishwarya’s first step has succeeded , what say??

Aishwarya Rai is helping her business manager for his upcoming flick based on a war widow. Hari Singh is Aish’s business manager for 12 years and she will be doing a cameo in his movie without charging a single buck.
The movie will be directed by Jagmohan Mundra, who directed Aishwarya in Provoked and Ash will be playing the role of a lawyer who fights the widow’s case int he climax.
"Jagmohan says, Hari Singh approached me to direct a film that tells the emotional and heartrending tale of a war widow, and I have agreed to do it. Slumdog, which won
eight Oscars and whose worldwide box office receipts so far are estimated at over $ 270 million, the Indian model-turned-actress has bagged a series of lucrative roles with top directors, including
Woody Allen and Julian Schnabel.The British daily, reportedly said her earnings have now topped 2 million pounds.

It was years ago. Standing alone on the balcony of a New York hotel,
Abhishek Bachchan was seized with a desire to be with
Aishwarya Rai and a wish to marry her. This candid recollection was shared by
Abhishek himself on
Oprah Winfrey’s talk show in which he and Ash appeared together.
“I was filming in New York for a movie…And I used to stand on the balcony of my hotel room and wish that, 'One day, wouldn't it be nice if I was together with her, married',”
Abhishek revealed in a candid moment.
Abhishek’s wish was granted a few years later when he and
Ash were in New York City for the
premiere of their film
Guru. Right after the premiere,
Abhishek took her to the same balcony and popped the question.
“After the
premiere, we were back in the hotel…So I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me,”
Abhishek disclosed even as
Ash kept smiling sitting on the couch next to him.
The couple married in 2007 and started a new chapter of their life. Rather than living separately, they chose to live with
Abhi’s parents Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.Ash, who was dressed demurely in a sari for the show, told
Oprah that living with in-laws is normal for Indian brides.
“It's normal…It's absolutely natural to us. … I lived with my parents before we got married, so it's a natural thing,” Ash said.
When quizzed about pregnancy, Ash recalled all the rumours.
“I have been proclaimed pregnant already a couple of times. I'm like, ‘Okay, is that a hint?’...People would be watching every little bulge, and I'm like, ‘Oh my God. If you're not in shape, you're pregnant’,”
Ash giggled.It was Ash’s second time on Oprah’s couch. The last time she appeared on the show, she made Oprah wear a sari.
