Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, the song on national integration that used to air on TV in 1988 is about to return with a whole new different look and different stars. Ad filmmaker Kailash Surendranath and his wife Aarti had produced the song. They are now bringing a new version of the song back with new artistes. The original featured celebrities from different fields like acting, sports and music.
Only one artiste is the same as that in the old version is Amitabh Bachchan. He revealed that his part of the shoot was at Taj hotel. He also reveals that a part of the original song, composed by Louis Banks and P Vaidyanathan, was sung by him. His son, Abhishek and daughter-in-law, Aishwarya have also featured in the new version.
Ranbir Kapoor was chosen for the song as the youth icon. Ranbir shot for his parts at Yash Raj Studios in Film City. Some more people from the acting world to feature in the song are Deepika Padukone and Shilpa Shetty. Deepika proudly states that her father was in the first one, now she’s in the second. The news was confirmed by Aarti Surendranath who didn’t divulge anymore details stating that they wanted to keep it quiet until it was ready.

A period thriller, inspired by the Chittagong Uprising of 1930, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se‘ is based on the book ‘Do And Die’ by Manini Chatterjee. Talking about the maiden collaboration Sunita Gowariker, Producer, AGPPL said, “‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se‘ is a film for which Ashutosh Gowarikar Productions and PVR Pictures have come together for the first time.
“We are excited to collaborate with them as our partners/ co-producers for this film. PVR being great exhibitors we look forward to a great association with both
Ajay and Sanjeev Bijli,” said Sunita. A visibly excited A
jay Bijli, Chairman and MD, PVR Ltd, echoed Gowarikar’s sentiment. “We are proud to associate with AGPPL for
‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se‘. We are excited about the story idea, and have tremendous faith that Ashutosh and his team will make a great film, which will be remembered in the years to come,” he said.
The film which is to be shot in Goa, is eyeing a release in the 4th quarter of 2010. Though
Abhishek Bachchan has already arrived at the location, Deepika is expected to join the unit soon. Veteran lyricist
Javed Akhtar has penned the songs for the movie and Neeta Lulla has been roped in to design the costumes. Art direction will be done by Nitin Desai while Kiiran Deohans is the director of photography.

Mumbai: The two hot babes of Bollywood are not taking up arms against each other. The recent stories of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina affair had hit the tabloids during the shoot of Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani.
This is making Deepika insecure and she blames Katrina for the rumors. Katrina herself claimed that she shares good chemistry with the Kapoor boy and she is very’comfortable’ working with him. Katrina even went on to say they have similar visions about films.

Deepika Padukone is the
brand ambassador of Fiama Di Wills and she recently launched
two new soap variants of Fiama , which is also the associate sponsor of the upcoming
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WLIFW). She also unveiled designer Sumeet Varma’s preview collection for WLIFW titled ‘The Life of a Swan-Swan lake’.
On the occasion Deepika spoke out on a variety of topics including the fact that she is eagerly awaiting the release of her forthcoming ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ where she plays a bold role.
”’Karthik Calling Karthik’ is a romantic thriller and my role is quite bold and optimistic in the film as opposite to Farhan’s which is a very pessimistic one,”
Deepika told reporters adding, “It is a tough film and was a very challenging role.”
Directed by
Vijay Lalwani, the film is about a man who gets phone calls from himself. It is co-produced by
Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner Excel Entertainment and Amit Chandra and Vijay Lalwani of Magic Beans.

Deepika Padukone, Uma Shree and Prakash Raj have evinced interest to be a part of
Yuva Dasara.
“All the three will be special invitees for the Yuva Dasara programme to be held at Maharaja College grounds,” District In- Charge Minister Shobha Karandlaje told reporters.
She said folk artistes, Cheluvava of Belgaum and Siddaramaiah from Mysore will be honoured with “Janapada Siri” award.
“We are beginning a new tradition to honour our folk artistes.
Traditional sports like kite flying, Mallakamba and cycling have been added for the first time this year,” said the Minister.
Cultural troupes from Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have been invited for the Vijayadashami procession. The Indian Army will present a special programme at the torchlight parade ground, along with a Mallakamba event by the Maratha Regiment.
“Dasara darshana, restricted to the district last year, has been extended to 21 taluks of five districts this year. One Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus will ply rural folks to Mysore free of cost to witness Dasara events.
Rural Dasara has been extended to neighbouring Chamaranagar,” she said.
“The malls, complexes, shops and institutions have come forward voluntarily to light up their buildings for Dasara,” said the Minister. She added that total expenditure for Dasara was estimated at around Rs 6.5 crore this year compared to Rs 5.75 crore spent last year.
