Jamie Lynn, younger sister of pop singer Britney Spears, was in danger of losing her baby in the delivery room when she gave birth recently.
Contactmusic.com reported that doctors had to perform a caesarean on 17-year-old Lynn when they realised that she and the baby girl could have bled to death. She was diagnosed with marginal placenta previa, which could have been fatal since a part of the placenta extends to the mother's cervix.
An insider said: "Jamie Lynn was sick with worry. Grammy award-winning producer Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins says he's working on
'reinventing' Britney Spears.
The producer last week told Rap-Up TV in LA that he's working on some
'very dancey, really up-tempo, aggressive, catchy, and hook friendly' material for the singer's next album.
He said:
'I'm trying some new things [with Spears] … I've always worked with Britney and I love working with her.'Jerkins last worked with Britney seven years ago on her self-titled album on two tracks, Overprotected and I Love Rock 'n' Roll.
And despite Spear's extremely rocky year – including hospitalisations and an on-going custody battle with Kevin Federline – the producer insists that her work ethic has stayed the same.
'She's always professional,' he says, and, while other stars sometimes take a long time to record a song, during a recent studio session ,
'Britney walked in at 8.30 and was out by 10.30'.
As far as how she seems emotionally, Jerkins added:
'She's working on the positive side.'And producer Sean Garrett, who is set to work on Britney's new record, also recently told People magazine:

It appears that Britney Spears may get another chance at a comeback as she may be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards yet again this year. Nothing has been confirmed, but reports state that Spears may actually open up the VMAs.
Britney Spears performed at the VMAs last year doing her single, “Gimme More.” Needless to say, it ended up being one of the most highly-talked about moments on TV throughout 2007.
The MTV Video Music Awards a year ago drew in 7.1 million viewers, and MTV is hoping to make it even bigger this year.
MTV Awards the music channel’s president has said “Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?” Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group told The Associated Press. Britney’s performance of Gimme More at last year’s show was widely panned but when asked by reporters if he was joking Toffler said, “Sorta, who knows? I'm not sure how we top Britney opening the show.”

He doesn't grumble about the television trucks and news reporters swarming the courthouse every time there's a hearing, or the paparazzi who hound the pop princess every moment there isn't. And he's certainly not opposed to the TV reports, tabloids and Web sites that have documented every shred of the case that has consumed him for the past 18 months.
After all, the attention has saved his side some major cash.
"If I had to hire an investigator or investigators to provide me with the intelligence about what's going on, where they are, how are they doing," said Mark Vincent Kaplan, "it would be north of half a million to a million dollars ... as opposed to buying People magazine for $3.95 on Thursday morning or going on TMZ."
On May 6, the 61-year-old attorney emerged from Superior Court in Los Angeles where, for the first time in months, there was positive news to report about the former couple's custody tug-of-war: Spears was to have longer visits with her children.

The change, he said, was "recognition of the progress that has been made, a progress in structure and stability."
Days later, he sat down with The Associated Press at his high-rise office near Beverly Hills, letting on that those inside the case were viewing it through the same prism as the rest of us.
"Everyone who had a big toe in this case at every level followed what was going on by looking at the Web sites," he said.
Spears has always been an irresistible media target, but the 26-year-old's split from Federline launched a series of antics that amplified coverage of her life. The pop star appeared in public without underwear, shaved her own head at a suburban salon and beat a car with an umbrella. She checked in and out of rehab, got into fender-benders, inexplicably spoke with a British accent and made a paparazzo her personal companion.
Twice she was rushed by ambulance to local hospitals, drawing hordes of helicopters each time.
"No other case has had the media addiction and frenzy that surrounded this case and these people 24-seven," he said. "There's never been anything like this, and there probably won't be for a while."
Each bizarre episode formed a new wrinkle in her custody dispute, and each twist prompted a new round of news reports. The press swarmed whenever Spears was allowed to see 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James, and she was not averse to trotting the tots through known paparazzi hot spots.
In January, after her second hospitalization, Spears' visitation rights were suspended completely; her father, Jamie Spears, legally took over her personal and financial affairs in a conservatorship — a legal designation normally reserved for cases involving the elderly and infirm.
But in the ensuing months, she has avoided the harsh spotlight, instead spending time with family and even finding success in a cameo role on television's "How I Met Your Mother."
The scene at the May 6 hearing was so low-key as to be almost anticlimactic. The tide had apparently turned, not only for Spears, but also for the horde that was feeding off months of high drama.
It was a long time coming.
"In order for a high-profile case not to be high profile, everybody's got to want it not to be high profile," Kaplan said. "That wasn't happening for a while."
While the frenzy may have abated, it hasn't completely dissipated, in part because the case is continuing in open court rather than before a private judge, where celebrities often choose to settle their private affairs. Kaplan says that's happening for reasons he can't discuss.
One of the effects, however, is an evolution of Federline's public image — from the guy who caused the downfall of America's pop princess, to the more stable, responsible parent in an ugly situation.
"I think when the media saw that here's a guy who stepped up to the plate, not just because he had to but because he wanted to ... I think they gained a respect for him and that really turned them around a lot," Kaplan said. "The mission involved — wanting to change the wrongful impression that was generally perceived for my client — without the media being a willing participant, it would have been impossible."
That "mission" is why Kaplan says he took the case. Kaplan prepared Federline's prenuptial agreement, and the two reunited when Spears filed for divorce.
"It was at that time that I knew that this was someone that I believed in who was taking on a cause that I believed in," Kaplan said. "I realized that, in order to achieve the goal that he had regarding custody, that we couldn't get from point A to point B without passing right through the center of the American dream."
With A-list resources, Spears has employed a revolving door of representation, including four family law firms and some 15 attorneys throughout the case, while Kaplan and his partner, Jim Simon, have been the only two fighting for Federline. Spears was forced to pay most of his legal bills, and as of last month, Kaplan was still due $343,834.
When Federline, who has two other children from a previous relationship, won sole legal and physical custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James in January, it was a victory for Kaplan & Simon, LLP. And it was merited, said Connoly Oyler, a veteran Los Angeles family law attorney who is not involved in the Spears-Federline matter.
"In Spears' case, with the emotional breakdown that she had, that's a legitimate reason for one parent to say, 'I want sole legal and sole physical (custody), because the other parent is not physically or psychologically able to take care of the children,'" he said. "There is good reason for Kevin Federline doing what he did, legally."
Despite the overabundance of drama and media, the Spears-Federline case does share one thing with other custody disputes, Kaplan said: It's a battle over the welfare of children who don't grasp what's going on around them.
"The bottom line is you've got two kids ... who don't know and don't care and should never have to care about who their parents are," he said. "They just want to be safe and secure, nurtured and bonded with their parents just like any other kids. ... That's really what's at the core of this just like any other case."
Kaplan said he's proud of what he and Simon have accomplished for Federline. The case is arguably among the most significant in the attorney's 34-year career, and Kaplan said it has inspired personal satisfaction and professional growth.
"We've expanded and everyone's coming and wanting to hire me," he said. "I'm seen as, in a lot of ways, taking on Goliath."
"Very few lawyers get the opportunity that this case has presented on every possible issue you can think of," he continued. "Even fewer lawyers recognize the opportunity, and even a smaller percentage of those have the (guts) to go for the opportunity."
Of course being around celebrity has perks of its own.
"It's made it possible to not have to make reservations at a restaurant," he said, "but that too shall pass."

Britney Spears is going on holiday with Mel Gibson. The pop singer and her father Jamie are heading to Costa Rica with Mel Gibson and his wife Robyn.
The quartet will stay at Mel Gibson home in the South American country and plan to return next week. Mel Gibson has visited Costa Rica several times and last year bought a house in Guanacaste, in north-eastern Costa Rica.
Britney Spears and Mel became friends after the singer was hospitalized in February. They met up several times but their friendship was only made public in mid-March when they were seen dining together in California.

Commissioner Reva Goetz on Thursday, April 17, 2008, also delayed action on a motion to put Spears' companies and business entities in her trust. It will now be heard on July 31, the same day a probate court is scheduled to decide on a permanent conservatorship for the troubled pop singer.
Other news this week , Britney Spears trusted friend Sam Lufti, has agreed once again to stay away from her till July 31. The order came about on Wednesday Apr 16 and it was revealed at a Los Angeles court, People magazine reported. The had been slapped on Lufti in February 08 after Spears mother accused him of having drugged the 26-year-old singer.
In the meantime, the singer's father Jamie Spears and lawyer Andrew Wallet are to remain in legal control over her affairs. The court will review the conservatorship again on July 31, but it is expected that their control will be extended.

according to Life & Style magazine, they reported that after catching “Idol Gives Back” on TV Wednesday evening, singer Britney Spears decided to donate $25,000 to the charity fundraiser.
"Miss American Dream" had gotten permission from dad, Jamie Spears, who is currently her conservator, before making the contribution and charging the donation to her Amex.
"She did it all on her own. She watched the show and cried for like two hours over the children in Africa with malaria," revealed a source.
She didn’t know much about the disease, so she Googled it. She was horrified to realize kids were dying from mosquito bites.

It seems that the word 'Trouble' for is nothing that Britney Spears can't handle these days. As it was reported that on Saturday night, April 12, she was involved in a car accident.
Following the news on her accident, Britney Spears has been reported to have crashed her Mercedes-Benz into a 2006 Nissan while driving through the 101 Freeway in L.A. Allegedly, the incident led to a minor chain-reaction as the Nissan which been hit by the troubled pop star then crashed into another car in front of it.
One of the California Highway Patrol officer Patrick Kimball revealed the reason why Britney crashed her car, saying "She failed to notice that the vehicle in front of her had come to a complete stop. She attempted to break but failed to stop her vehicle prior to colliding with a 2006 Nissan." Fortunately for Britney, nobody was injured because of the accident. Kimball revealed the fact to the press, saying "nobody was injured"

Jamie Spears has been given the right by the Californian Court to sell some of Britney many cars. Britney Spears have two white mercedes ( SL65 and CLK350 ), a white Mini Cooper convertible and a black Audi.
A court granted the singer's father on Monday the power to "sell or dispose of" an undisclosed number of her seven cars, documents show.
Lawyers for Jamie Spears stated that the cost of maintaining the fleet of vehicles was too expensive and that the sale of "a certain of" her cars "will save substantial expense to the conservatorship estate."
Also on Monday, a court spokesman clarified that the pop star's $1,500 a week allowance "is not her only source of (personal) income," but did not give further details.
Spears's father and a lawyer will remain in control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing.

Britney Spears has been ordered to pay her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s lawyer $375,000 in legal fees.
Attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan was asking for $500,000 for his part in the pop star’s custody fight with her ex, but Los Angeles Commissioner Scott Gordon slashed that figure, agreeing Spears should pay her former husband’s "reasonable" fees.
In a hearing in Los Angeles this morning, Spears’ lawyers called the settlement outrageous, according to TMZ.com.
In the court order, obtained by the website, Spears’ legal payments have been disclosed, showing her former lawyer, Laura Wasser, charged the singer over $160,000 in legal fees, while legal firm Trope & Trope, who represented Spears in her custody battle for five months, are asking for more than $680,000 in fees.
Meanwhile, in a concurrent hearing, Andrew Wallet - the co-conservator of Spears’ estate - was granted permission to sell some of the singer’s cars.
Wallet shares control of the pop star’s legal and financial affairs with her father Jamie.
Presiding Judge Reva Goetz also extended the restraining order against Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi for another month.

Britney Spears had a Hebrew tattoo on the back of her neck showing the three words "mem," "hey" and "shin", but when the "Gimme more" singer was spotted out shopping in Los Angeles earlier this week, the tattoo has mysteriously disappeared. It was clear she has had the tattoo removed, and sources say she has spent about $2,000 on laser removal.
The ex-tattoo was just one of a collection for Britney, which includes pink dice on her forearm, a fairy on the small of her back, a butterfly and vine chain on her right foot, a star on her hand and a pair of lips on her wrist, apparently read in Hebrew 'The Power to Heal'.
The removal is a strong sign that she is really trying to get her life back on track, after the last sad goings-on. UCLA Medical Center will fire some employees and discipline others for snooping at the confidential medical records of Britney Spears while she was hospitalized in its psychiatric ward, a hospital official told The Associated Press.
Jeri Simpson, the hospital's director of human resources who was involved in the investigations of the confidentiality breach, confirmed the action but could not say how many employees were affected.
The Los Angeles Times reported on its Web site Friday that more than 13 employees, none of whom are doctors, would be fired. Twelve others, including several doctors, will be disciplined otherwise for looking at her computerized records, it reported.
This is not the first time the hospital has had to reprimand employees for looking at Spears' records. Several workers were fired after they were caught snooping after Spears gave birth to her first son, Sean Preston, in September 2005.
"It's not only surprising, it's very frustrating and it's very disappointing," Simpson told the newspaper, adding that she felt "horrible" that it happened again.
Spears was admitted to the hospital twice in January under a state law allowing patients to be held against their will for up to 72 hours for evaluation if they are deemed a danger to themselves or others. On her second trip to the medical center, Spears stayed for nearly a week.
